Choosing the perfect beard style for you

When it comes to shaving everyone has the perfect shave or style that will look so amazing on them. At the moment there is a lot of emphasis on male grooming, especially as a result of the allure of the glamor associated with Hollywood. Male grooming has since come to the limelight, and as a result of the same this has also led to the propagation of fashionable accessories which are used by men. The beard is one of the most commonly discussed parts of the male anatomy in fashion circles today, and it all depends on how you choose to dress yours.

There are two important questions that people tend to wonder about when it comes to the beard; how to grow the best of them all, and the style that would best come in handy. Indeed answering these two questions will not only make it easier for a guy to get the perfect beard, but this will also go so far in ensuring that the guy is able to maintain a very good look, and in most cases, come up with a unique identity that only them can convincingly put on.

Growing a beard is an art (just in case you are not aware). It is an art that when mastered an individual can be in a very good position to look their best without even having to make an effort. Sadly not so many guys are ever in a good position to do this in the best way possible. The one thing that every guy needs to understand is that the style you choose for your beard is all but a matter of personal tastes and preferences. In as much as you may want to use a particular style for your beard, you will need to remember that your face (the shape) will greatly determine what works for you and what doesn’t. This is more or less the same iteration that comes into play whenever you are looking for a pair of shades or sunglasses.

Everyone has a different face, so just because you like the beard that David Beckham has, doesn’t necessarily mean that it will look so convincingly perfect on yours. Every face is unique and as a result has its own style. Among the things that you have to look into when choosing the beard style that will appeal to you, is the length of your face, your mouth, the shape of your head, the contour of your jaw line, your nose and so forth. Since you will be wearing your beard on your face, everything that goes onto your face has to be taken into consideration when you are choosing the beard style.

The shape of your face

The first thing that you have to do is to know the shape of your face, without which all else may as well be futile.

In the event that you have a small face, it would be best for you to consider a beard that takes to the small shape. This is because a larger beard on a small face will only make you look ridiculous, out of proportion.

It is generally recommended for those with small faces to go for detailed beards so that they do not have their faces all swamped with hair. An individual with a larger head should consider a proportionate beard because a smaller beard will succeed in making their heads look larger than they really are, more like a balloon. In as much as you will be considering all this, the other thing that you should not leave to chance is the shape of your head. The style you choose needs to go hand in hand with the shape of your head, irrespective of whether you have a big or a small head.

For a guy that has a round face, it would be sensible to go with a beard that is longer around the chin. The sides of your beard are supposed to be shorter, while the length needs to be concentrated at the chin. One of the perfect styles for such individuals perhaps is the classic goatee.

For a square face, it would be wiser to trim the edges of your beard, while at the same time giving a lot of thought to the edges of your head. Your beard needs to be shorter towards the chin but thicker along the sides of your head. Remember that in such a scenario, having sideburns that are longer can succeed in making your face look longer too, if that is what you are aiming for. In such a case, you may find some success with the classic goatee, but then again, if you make it too narrow, this might actually work in the reverse. Always make sure that all length is handled at your chin.
